In 1997 she was voted the Best Children's entertainer in Calgary by the "Calgary's Child" publication, and in 1998, she was presented with an Alberta Recording Industries Association Award in the category of "Best Children's Artist of the Year".

She has performed for such dignitaries as His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip and the former President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev.

 

 

Bio/History

Miss Molly (Molly Hamilton) was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, (5th generation Calgarian) and has entertained local, national and international audiences for years with her unique brand of country music.

She has over twenty-three years as a singer and performer under her belt and an uncanny knack of getting her audiences into the act. Combining country with comedy for light-hearted family fun, Miss Molly brings the musical heritage of the Wild West to life.

Exploring a treasure chest of country classics from the likes of Wilf Carter, Patsy Cline, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, to the more contemporary country artists such as Pam Tillis, Terri Clark, Carlene Carter and Shania Twain, Miss Molly's versatility is exceeded only by her enthusiasm. A master of interactive performance, Miss Molly brings country to the people with fun, flair and professionalism.

For fourteen years, (1976-1990), Miss Molly was the official entertainer for the Calgary Stampede Promotion Committee. During the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, she performed daily for crowds of 60,000 or more. She was the featured entertainer, during the half-time show of the 1993 Grey Cup celebrated in Calgary and televised across the continent to fifteen million people. In 1992, 1993, and 1996, she appeared as a Special Featured Guest, with the Young Canadians on the World Renowned Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show. In 1992, she developed a unique family symphony concert entitled Every Cowboy Needs a Horse which combines classic country with a full orchestra for an ol' time western celebration of hand-clappin', foot-stompin', sing'-along fun for everyone. She has enjoyed many performances with both Canadian and US Symphony orchestras performing as part of either their Family or Pops Concert series.

In 1989, Miss Molly was awarded the celebrated Calgary Convention and Visitors Bureau's White Hatter of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to the one person in Calgary that they feel best promoted Calgary as a friendly and hospitable city. Miss Molly performs for all ages and very much enjoys her performances with the little folk. She has performed for such dignitaries as His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip and the former President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. Miss Molly has promoted country music and western heritage from Dallas to Hawaii and as far away as France and Japan. She makes upwards of 150 appearances annually at: corporate events, conventions, schools, festivals, community events, symphony concerts, family nights, church socials, special events and more. She has four recordings to her credit: Two Albums of great classic country tunes Every Cowboy Needs a Horse and Penny Candy and two Christmas treats Miss Molly & Ho! Ho! Ho! and Family Christmas. All released on her own 2M Records label.

Her classical voice training not only produces concerts and recordings where every word is clearly understood but gives her that extra edge when she yodels!

Shows

Add to these the Vegas performing magic of Tony Orlando, and the sing along charm of Mitch Miller, and you have a dynamic entertainment package, filled with excitement, laughter and audience participation.

Experience
This year, Miss Molly celebrates her 25th anniversary as a performer, bringing the best in genuine country music entertainment. For 14 years, she was the official entertainer for the Calgary Stampede and during the 1988 Olympics, Molly performed daily for crowds often exceeding efforts, Miss Molly was awarded the White Hatter of the year. Miss Molly and her band, the Tumbleweeds, do upwards of 145 shows a year, for audiences of all ages.
