This band delivers old school R&B hits and Motown favorites guaranteed to excite any dance floor. The line-up includes a three piece horn section, bass, drums, organ, guitar, and three vocalists. They have toured with the legendary B.B. King on 2 separate occasions and performed or shared stages with world renowned entertainers and bands including: The Tragically Hip, ZZ Top, Long John Baldry, 54/40, Wide Mouth Mason, Jann Arden, Lighthouse, The Powder Blues Band, Doug & The Slugs, Trooper, Downchild Blues Band, Reba Macintire, Leanne Rimes, The Stampeders, and Randy Bachman among others. As of late, the band has also been performing as the “Blues Brothers Band” for “The Blues Brothers Revival”, the only revival sanctioned by Dan Aykroyd and the estate of John Belushi.n 2006 the band was voted best band in Calgary by Fast Forward Arts & Entertainment Weekly and in 2002 by the entertainment writers of The Calgary Herald. In 2003 they won The Canadian Musician Magazine’s Talent Search and were featured on the magazine’s compilation CD. The band was nominated for a 2002 Prairie Music Award followed by Western Canadian Music Award nominations in 2003 and 2004. Their performance at the 2004 WCMA ceremonies was considered one of the standout performances of the show. “Mocking Shadows Rhythm and Blues Revue” performs a variety of styles suitable for any crowd with enthusiasm and class. The band is able to adapt to different scenarios depending on what is appropriate to the event. Other aspects such as wardrobe, suitable stage conversation and professionalism are at the utmost when the Shadows perform.
