Restless Lester

Bio:

Calgary's Restless Lester has been creating a musical buzz in western Canada since 2002. Keith Burgess (bass), Steve Fisher (rythm and lead guitar), and Brad Lindberg (banjo), all veterans of the Alberta acoustic music scene, are joined by Bruice Blair, a relative newcomer to the western praries. Burgess is as solid an anchor as exists in blurgrass and the other three are each exciting and innovative on their respective instruments. Lead vocal duties are shared, with Fisher on the majority, Burgess on a couple of tunes, and blair and Lindberg on one tune each. Harmony singers on the various songs are not identified.

Meet the Band:

Steve Fisher - Guitar
One of the best known blurgrass guitar players and singers in western Canada and a former member of several Calgary area bands including the Sheep River Rounders, and the Hot House Bluegrass Band. An instructor in flatpicking guitar at the Britich Coloumbia Bluegrass Workshop in Sorrento for several years and other music workshops around Alberta.

Bruce Blair - Fiddle
A former Grand North American Champion who has also placed top ten at the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championships three times. A popular teacher of Traditional Fiddle styles at camps, and music schools throughout Alberta and British Coloumbia.

Keith Burgess - Upright Bass
The rythmic anchor for Edmonton Blurgrass band, Jerusalem Ridge for more than 16 years. He's appeared on stage at every major bluegrass festival in western Canada, and has showcased at the International Bluegrass Music Association's annual convention in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Brad Lindberg - Banjo
One of Calgary's best banko teachers who continues to introduce unsuspecting youth to the mysteries of the 5-string banjo.
